This webpage was created to show different types of data visualizations that help people understand both current and past conflicts around the world. By turning numbers into clear visuals, we want to make it easier to see what is really happening and how people are affected. These visualizations can highlight the terrible things that happen in many parts of the world and bring more attention to them in a simple and understandable way.
The main data used in this project comes from the ACLED (Armed Conflict Location & Event Data Project) and Our World in Data. ACLED provides information about political violence, protests, and conflicts — including where and when they happen and who is involved. Our World in Data offers a wide range of global datasets, such as refugee numbers, humanitarian aid, and human development indicators.
